Sounds Cannot Escape
This is the first thing that you should remember. If you are deciding to record something in a specific room, please make sure it is a small one. You are not looking for one where you could be relaxing or lounging. Instead, you are looking for one that is absolutely functional; one that is small and compact, where there is no leakage of sound at all. Checking whether a particular room would be good or not is quite easy. All you need to do is hang some very heavy curtains on the walls and close the door in such a way that not even a ray of light can get through. You might have to resort to the use of some sort of packing, which could be in the form of Styrofoam or something similar. Once you have packed the door and the window with this and tried closing all doors and windows; try standing outside and ask a friend to make a noise from the inside. When you hear nothing, it means that it is quite soundproof.
Equipment In Good Condition
Since you are the kind of person who is always keen on getting your performance recorded in a proper manner, you must be careful about the equipment you use. You never know when you will be called in to give a performance or for that matter when you will be called to record something. It would be better for you to remember that your machine and equipment especially your microphone should always be in good condition. It’s always nice when you have equipment that functions well. There is no point in having some swanky stuff in your possession but not being able to maintain it properly. Take the time to keep things clean and tidy always.
